DEFINING SPACE
Everyone needs personal space to function well but modern offices also need to facilitate good communication, whether one-to-one or in groups. The skills needed to combine these apparently conflicting needs in an open plan environment are often underestimated. Good workplace design combines a variety of screens and partitions to define personal space or reduce noise and distraction as well as increasing available storage and enhancing appearance.
TOUCHDOWN, BREAKOUT, HOT DESK
Key full-time personnel need dedicated workstations but many organisations have short-term visitors who need to be accommodated. Whether they are employees from another office, overseas visitors, contractors or professional advisors, they all need space to work whilst on site. Hot desk facilities and more imaginative meeting areas can be as relaxed or as formal as necessary. Whether these areas need to be similar to the general office environment or in complete contrast, thoughtful design will ensure they are productive. |
